. Looking at the perception of archaeology within our society, and the development of new technologies, we discover that we are faced both with new challenges and new opportunities. Ideally, our own research from excavation and documentation to analysis and publication, and a popular presentation of it, could somehow be combined within one consistent workflow, using technology tailored to meet the purpose. Given the limits of resources and know-how in academic archaeology - even at Troy - such ideas are mostly bound to remain science-fiction.
